The venue requires a final guest count 5 business days before the event. If you are unable to attend and your cancellation is made before the guest count is due to the venue, you may transfer your ticket to another upcoming event. If your cancellation is made after the guest count is required, please contact the office at 773-804-8592 and we will do our best to assist you with another option.

The LAI Chicago Region Chapter Member Support Fund is available to members who serve nonprofit organizations, public agencies, academic institutions, or those who in a professional employment transition to help offset the cost of attendance at chapter events and membership dues. The goal of the fund is to make Chapter events and activities more accessible and encourage attendance and engagement. In some instances, guests of members may also be eligible to receive these funds.

Future of the Central Area
Central Area Plan CCAC & LAI Virtual Progress Update and Discussion

Heidi Sperry, Director of Planning and Development with the City of Chicago, has requested that we share some exciting updates regarding the city’s updates to the Central Area Plan.

Phase I updates were mostly conducted in 2023 and completed in early 2024. It analyzed the existing conditions in the Central Area and crafted a vision for the future of downtown. Phase II is currently underway and is focused on outlining the goals and actions required to achieve the vision along with estimating potential growth over the next 20 years and identifying catalytic projects that can support growth.

While several members of LAI Chicago Region Chapter have been involved, the city is offering a virtual progress update and discussion on Thursday, December 12 from 12pm-1:30pm for members of the Central Area Committee and the broader LAI Chicago Region Chapter membership. During this session, the planning team will recap the work to date and present draft growth scenarios and catalytic projects identified for the Central Area. The planning team will offer interactive exercises and discussions to get feedback before they roll these out to the public.
